The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) makes provisions for national governments to report and communicate progress made regarding the manner in which climate change would have been addressed over a period of time. Many countries have already had their First and Second National Communications. Green Capacity (Pty) Ltd?s experience with national communications in Africa reveals that many states and governments lack capacity. Such inadequate capacity includes the lack of effective and efficient institutional frameworks, human and capital resources. Green Capacity (Pty) Ltd therefore has capacity to assist governments to set-up long term and generic national communication institutions, train reporting staff, develop generic communication instruments as well as advise on potential sources of funding. Closely linked to national communications is the global agenda on climate negotiations.
